Team New Zealand robbed

Team New Zealand have been robbed victory in the the 34th edition of the America’s Cup.
They were leading the 12th race of the series by over 1km when the race as abandoned due to the race not been finished with 40minutes. The Kiwi boat was just meters from the finish line.
The wind today was the lightest we have seen in the competition and the Kiwi boat was much better than the American boat in the lighter conditions.
To make matters worse Oracle then went on to win the final race of the day.
That makes  the current score  8-3 to Team New Zealand.
The America’s Cup is the oldest active trophy in international sport and Team New Zealand is attempting to become the first team outside of America to win it twice.

Team New Zealand win first America’s Cup races

Emirates Team NZ have got off to a flying start in the America’s Cup winning the first two races.
Team New Zealand now hold a 2 to -2 lead in the 34th America’s Cup.
Team New Zealand seemed faster up wind against their opposition while downwind both teams looked very close.
In race one, the racing was closer then anything we had seen so far.  At the bottom mark Team New Zealand was behind and had to overtake on the second leg. They then extended their lead to win by 36s.
In the second race Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker won the start and burned Oracle off to win by about 45s.
Team New Zealand now look in control and are only 7 victories away from bring the America’s Cup back to New Zealand.

All Blacks beat Argentina but McCaw injured

The All Blacks have beaten Argentina 28-13, in a rain sodden match in Hamilton.
Overall the All Blacks were too strong for the South Americans over the entire 80minutes.  Two first half tries by halfback Aaron Smith and another by Julian Savea in the second half were enough for the All Blacks to see off a spirited Pumas team.
There is concern within the All Black camp after captain Ritchie McCaw was carried off towards the end of the second half. McCaw has a damaged right knee and will miss the next 4 or 5 weeks, including next weeks big clash against South Africa in Auckland.
